Are you paying out of pocket for your health insurance, but do not have enough medical expenses to claim your insurance on the Schedule A of your tax return? Even if you do, don't claim it on the Sch A because it is subject to the 7.5% limitation of your AGI (adjusted gross income).
Taxpayers who are self-employed can claim 100% of their health insurance premiums on the front of their 1040 Form, Section: Adjusted Gross Income, Line 29.
Health Insurance paid by or subsidized by an employer does not qualify.
